Designworks: Where Real-World Products Meet Digital Experiences
Designworks, a BMW Group company, is a future-focused design agency with a storied past. As BMW’s creative hub for more than 26 years, Designworks embraces a culture of forward-thinking and innovative design. At the forefront of integrating AI into the creative process, Designworks looked to move beyond automotive to position themselves firmly at the intersection of real-world products and digital experiences in transportation and micromobility, health tech, agriculture tech, and more.
Insight & Idea
Diffusion worked with Designworks to create tangible images of futuristic concepts to help reporters reimagine the future of mobility, tech and experiential design. These visuals were crucial to telling the Designworks story visually. Renderings were selected based on relevant media conversations at the time for both mainstream and targeted trade verticals. While mainstream coverage boosted brand awareness, coverage in trade outlets was conducted intentionally to boost business development for Designworks, specifically within the rise of generative AI search engines.
Finally, to align media visibility with the target sectors WebPurify was looking to build awareness in, like gaming and online retail, Diffusion recommended research uncovering hidden content concerns among consumers. These eye-opening statistics told a powerful story to brands and media alike: consumers are running into harmful content online and expect companies to step up to the plate to better protect them (cue, WebPurify).
Impact & Action
The renderings supported Diffusion’s pitch efforts, resulting in 299M+ impressions. Designworks thought leadership appeared in mainstream publications like Forbes, Newsweek and Fortune as well as leading design publications like Core77 and Creativeboom, and at major events such as Newsweek’s 2025 AI Summit emphasizing the company’s dominance in automobile design while highlighting their AI-forward approach to designing for other industries. Coverage in Aerospace Manufacturing & Design, Mass Transit Mag, Elektrek, Designboom and Innovation & Tech Today directly supported new business initiatives, delivering third-party validation of Designworks directly to potential customers.
