Owlet appoints Diffusion PR

Owlet Inc., the pioneer of smart infant monitoring, has appointed Diffusion PR as its public relations agency of record in the United States. Diffusion’s press campaigns for Owlet will support numerous upcoming brand and product milestones, company announcements and product launches with a strategic approach combining thought leadership, original research, ongoing earned media relations and creative brand partnerships.

Owlet is a category leader in infant sleep, health and data, and Diffusion’s strategic media work will further position Owlet as the gold standard in at-home infant care. Ongoing public relations efforts will span beyond support of critical announcements to produce a consistent, diverse media engine stretching across verticals ranging from health, technology, parenting, business, medical and more. Diffusion will bring Owlet’s story and ongoing innovation to life for media, highlighting Owlet’s CEO and Co-Founder, Kurt Workman, and his passion for a future where parents have access to better tools and information to provide better care for their infants.

Founded by a team of parents in 2012, Owlet is not your average baby monitor brand. Parents across the world have come to rely on Owlet to provide peace of mind and real-time monitoring of their baby’s well-being while they sleep. Owlet now has clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) of Dream Sock®, the first and only over-the-counter medical pulse oximetry solution for healthy babies between 1 to 18 months. With new features launching by January 2024, the FDA-cleared Dream Sock will monitor and display Baby’s Live Health Readings, including pulse rate and oxygen saturation level, and will provide Health Notifications, which will notify caregivers with lights and sounds if their infant’s readings fall outside of preset ranges in real-time. This clearance builds on features that parents already love about Dream Sock and the Owlet Dream App.

In addition to Dream Sock and Dream Duo, which combines the FDA-cleared Dream Sock and Owlet Cam® in one seamless bundle, the Company recently announced FDA clearance of BabySat™, the first  prescriptionpulse oximetry device featuring Owlet’s advanced, wire-free sock design. A game-changer for both the pediatric medical community and parents, BabySat is designed for at-home, physician-supervised use withbabies who could benefit from additional, hospital-grade monitoring with clinically proven accuracy.

Valerie Felski, Senior Manager, PR & Global Brand Partnerships for Owlet, commented: “Owlet is on a mission to better the at-home care of infants and give parents access to technology and data that ultimately bring them more peace of mind. In seeking a new PR agency to help lead our media strategy – especially coming off the heels of two FDA clearances – we knew we needed a team that is both understanding of this mission and are experts in smart, creative storytelling. Diffusion has crafted a PR strategy that we’re looking forward to leveraging to share our stories far and wide.”

Kate Ryan, Managing Director of Diffusion, commented: “With several parents on the Diffusion team, we know all too well what it’s like to have sleepless nights and heightened worry when bringing a new baby home. Owlet’s highly intelligent monitoring solutions take the guesswork out of one of the most stressful unknowns of being a new parent – putting your baby to sleep and trusting they are sleeping well. Owlet is equipped with the technology, expertise, and recent FDA clearances to be the most trusted baby monitor option on the market. Our campaigns will fire on all cylinders to spotlight the products, executives, customer stories and company mission that make Owlet the only option for new parents and caregivers.”
