Neoline sets sail with Diffusion
Neoline, a shipping company committed to driving energy efficiency and minimising emissions in shipping, has selected Diffusion as its PR partner. The appointment comes as the French firm prepares to launch its first vessel, the Neoliner Origin, designed to help decarbonise transport and logistics through wind-powered propulsion.
Following extensive R&D, the Neoliner has been optimised to drastically reduce GHG emissions compared to other vessels of its type, making energy savings through a reduction in speed and harnessing the power of the wind to comprise a large majority (between 60 and 70%) of its propulsion. In so doing, the Neoliner Origin is helping to reduce the carbon footprint of international maritime cargo and drive shipping decarbonisation efforts. Its maiden voyage across the Atlantic is set for mid-2025, with partnerships already secured to carry cargo from leading brands including, for example, Clarins, Renault, Longchamp, yacht maker Beneteau and lifting equipment supplier Manitou.
Diffusion will be working with Neoline on a strategic communications campaign to demonstrate that a new, more efficient model for ocean shipping is possible and ensuring that the company is seen as a key voice in driving the debate to promote more sustainable maritime transport and logistics operations. The campaign will target logistics and sustainability managers at leading brands, who are increasingly tasked with decarbonising their supply chains.
Neoline commented: “2025 is set to be a game-changing year for Neoline, marking the culmination of years of hard work in building our business and completing our first commercial vessel. The Neoliner Origin represents a bold step forward in responsible shipping, offering the kind of solution brands have been looking for to meet their cargo-transport carbon reduction goals. With Diffusion’s rare combination of deep maritime and climate tech experience, we knew we had found a partner that really understood and wanted to support our mission. Their innovative PR approach and strong connections across global business, technology, sustainability, and logistics media means we are confident that the Diffusion team will help us in our mission to tackle emissions reduction in a hard-to-abate sector – and make a real difference.”
Peter Jackson, Head of Climate & Cleantech at Diffusion, commented: “Maritime sustainability has always been an area I’m deeply passionate about. Sea cargo transportation is responsible for almost 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions and reducing the carbon footprint of supply chains is one of the toughest climate challenges of the 21st century facing many brands. The Neoliner has the potential to address both these issues, demonstrating that there’s no need to compromise between sustainability and reliability in a complex and dynamic global logistics environment. We are privileged to welcome Neoline to our growing portfolio of climate technology innovators changing the world and are committed to building their brand and commercial impact.”
